"It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back."

TraumaWorking with survivors of long-term trauma, like childhood abuse or neglect, is particularly meaningful work. Finding safety to share those stories from the past can be a powerful healing tool. Often a past trauma can show up in daily life through unpleasant flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks or physical manifestations (weight gain or loss, insomnia, self-harm and many others). Reclaiming pleasure and joy in your life is possible when you find a safe place to talk about the things people don't talk about. As a licensed therapist, I am not afraid to hear about what happened to you. I can stand in that "fire" with you and not feel judgment. It's important to understand how past trauma may be interfering with how you feel about yourself today. I have great respect for the courage it takes to open oneself up to do this powerful work. To learn more about my approach and to schedule an appointment to talk, please call me at 847.864.2100.
